The Gold Standard For Child/Youth Resources |

The Golden Porch
Award is given out to resources that both the kids and adults on The
Porch find to be outstanding.
Golden Porch Award Winner Algebra Survival Guide: A Conversational Handbook for the Thoroughly Befuddled Over the years, many of the Front Porch kids have only made it through Algebra I because of this book. This school year it was especially helpful to a few of our high-schoolers. Its high time we gave this book its due. No textbook can hold a candle to this book. It should be used for every introduction to Algebra, along with the separate workbook. The only thing wrong with this book is that there is not one for Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus. Golden Porch Award Winner The Scrambled States of America We have found
no better way for kids (or adults) to learn states and
capitals. In this game, kids
race to find capitals, mottoes, and states
relative to each other. The kids loved this game so
much during homework time that they chose to play it in their free time. Now that's the
sign of a brilliant educational game.
